Since 1978, Abihome has been successfully monitoring the growth of the constantly changing market for windows, doors and verandahs. We offer you durable materials at the cutting edge of technology. Our independence offers you the freedom to choose the best: We only use brand name materials of premium quality.

Even though our frames are designed to resist normal outdoor conditions, maintenance is needed to preserve cleanliness of the sections, seals and hardware.

Châssis en PVC

Châssis en PVC

Maintenance of PVC frames is very easy. They can be cleaned with a soft, wet sponge soaked in a non-abrasive household detergent. Never use abrasive products, aggressive liquids, ketone solvents or aromatic solvent (benzene, acetone, turpentine, petroleum spirts, ammonia, etc. ).
Sections that are difficult to clean can be treated with Decoclean or PVC Cleanup from Deceuninck or other specific products available in the market that are not dangerous to PVC surfaces (the maintenance kit for PVC Cleanup can be ordered through your abihome aftersales service).

Important Instructions:
• Do not clean the frames with a dry cloth so as to avoid scratching the surface.
• Never paint PVC sections.
• If you wish to add a touch of color to PVC frames, opt for DECOROC coated sections
Les joints du vitrage et de la feuillure sont fabriqués à partir d’EPDM (dimonomère d’éthylène-propylène ou de TPE (élastomère thermoplastique).
Glazing and rebate seals are made of EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer) or TPE (Thermo-Plastic Elastomer). However, they cannot come into contact with concentrated detergents or products made from them.
PVC frames are made of resistant hardware. To ensure that they work properly, check movable parts at least once a year and lubricate them if necessary. Furthermore, tilt-and-turn mechanisms may need adjustments. If need be, we will do them for you.

Par ailleurs, il se peut que le mécanisme oscillo-battant doive être réglé, nous pouvons, le cas échéant, nous en charger.

Wooden frames

Wooden frames

For normal maintenance of wooden frames, we use clean water and neutral detergents (never with a dry cloth or any abrasive product or products containing acetone, turpentine, ammonia or petroleum).
Light sandpapering and an application of paint or stain every 2 or 3 years depending on exposure on the more exposed zones of the frame (sills, supports, horizontal parts at the base of the frame).
Clean the drainage paths so that they are never clogged.

Aluminum frames

Aluminum frames

For Aluminum frames, regular maintenance is necessary to avoid corrosion. Frequency of maintenance depends on the environment (2 to 4 times a year).
In rural areas and low-density urban areas maintenance must be done 1 or 2 times a year. In urban industrial zones maintenance must be done at least 3 times a year. In seaside and high pollution environments, even more frequent maintenance is required.

For normal maintenance of aluminum, we use clean water and neutral detergents (never with a dry cloth or any abrasive product or products containing acetone, turpentine, ammonia or petroleum. Periodi-Clean or Maxi-Gloss recommended products). Rinse with a lot of clean water. Never paint the sections. Clean the drainage paths so that they are never clogged.

It is advised to daub and lightly oil EPDM seals in order to preserve their softness. This will ensure their increased life. However, they cannot come into contact with concentrated detergents or products made from them. Frames are made of resistant hardware.
